Oh baby!

Oh baby!

Tonight I decided to try making a Dutch baby. It is an easy to make, crispy fluffy baked heaven that tastes like a cross between French toast and lemon bar. It is best served warm dusted with powdered sugar, a light sprinkle of lemon juice, and some honey drizzled over it.  I was surprised that it turned out so well! Put 2 Tbs. butter in a cast iron skillet and throw it in the oven set to 425 to melt. In a medium bowl mix 1/2 C. milk, 1/2 C. flour and 4 eggs.  I added a tiny pinch of salt and a teeny tiny pinch of cinnamon. When the butter is melted pour your mixture in the pan and put it in to bake for 25 minutes.  Leave it alone to do its magic and when your timer goes off it will be perfect.  I found that enjoying a nice glass of wine, more Chariot Gypsy Red from Trader Joe’s helps keep me occupied in times like these. Remove the pan from the oven, sprinkle your creation with some powdered sugar, cut some lemon and sprinkle that over it, and drizzle a little honey on top.  I cut ours

Love is a Battlefield

I can't believe I've been away for so long again! Don't worry though, I've still been drinking wine! :-) It's Wine Wednesday, a three day weekend is near and I've got some good DWG tunes (Peaches) playing to keep me type type typing away! I think I mentioned some exciting news on my last post. Well it's news. :-) I changed jobs. I'm figuring out exactly what it is that I want to do and I'm not really sure yet. I'm happy to have a good job but my mind is really all over the place... On the upside, I've listened to a crap ton of podcasts on the drive to and from my new job. Two hours a day. Eesh. Mira, here is a wine review from just a couple of nights ago on Valentine's Day! Dave (my loyal wine tasting fiancé) and I decided to pit two reds against each other to see who would prevail! Ladies and gentlegerms! We have two $10 and under contenders!

I’ve been away from the blog for way too long!  So much has happened, I redesigned dirtywinegirl.com,  holidays have passed, we are in a new year, and much wine has been enjoyed.  I have a lot to share but first a list of what you can expect to read about soon! Holiday recap including our first Hanukkah celebration at home. Goals and big changes coming up this year for Dave and I, and of course dirtywinegirl.com. My rainy weekend vacation recap. Exciting developments with the wedding and honeymoon! And yes folks, lots and lots of wine reviews. We have branched out a little and have found some pretty tasty wine for you to enjoy! Cheers my good friends.  Have a lovely weekend!

Thanks! And Hanukkah is coming!

Hello out there in blog reading land!  I just wanted to post a quick hello and thank you note to those who take the time to read the Dirty Wine Girl Blog!  I have had readers all over the globe and many of those places I wish to visit (and drink wine in) some day.  So thanks go out to my readers in: The United Kingdom (which we will visit next year), Canada (Oh Canada!), Australia, Russia, The U.S. Virgin Islands, Israel, Poland, Norway, Japan and others (my stats page is kinda broken atm).  All beautiful places with beautiful people. I didn’t take this photo.  The good people at NASA did.  This week is extra special for us at the Strandcastle.  That’s what I’m calling it these days since The Strand (my fiance’s band) is recording their podcasts around our kitchen table on Sunday’s.  You can check it out here at the Strandcast.  Or, if you like Dungeons and Dragons, we have a regular game that’s been going on for at least two years that we’ve begun to podcast.   It’s called Beer and Battle and it’s rad if you like D&D and beer (wine for me). Oh yes, the
